Obviously, the situation of the society makes me wonder and remember what many great philosophers have said about the society (State)... It is crystal clear that neither can we operate in any form of hobbesian community nor feyerabend's concept of anything goes... NO! Whether man predates society or society predates man is inconsequential. What happens to us is the product of what we make our society look like. Since humans determine the kind of society the want to live in, it is our collective duty to make a change when necessary and due. Like he said, I also enjoy living a happy life than hidding in the shadows of another person's life. It makes me sick when nobody cares to point at the bad situation of the society.
The tone in everyone's voice these days complements that of Nigerian hip hop singer like 'i want to lowo before happiness'. But, we have forgotten that as we go to school to study Chemistry 101, Mathematics 101, Sociology 101 English 101, we also need to study Happiness 101 to 410. Even in elementary school, We need to inculcate in them what philosophy of value is all about.
The society itself is moving to extinction because we have decided to turn away eyes away from our problems and challenges. Like I use to tell people, an average American man who has no money at the age of 40 believes that what is more important in his family life is happiness. On the other hand an average African man who has nothing at the age of 40 goes from one mountain of fire to mountain of cloud, dancing from one island to valley. Singing from one rock of ages to rock of new dawn all because of money. Some have even gone to the point of skipping work on every Tuesday to sleep in church waiting for revival. Now some kill our ladies for money rituals. So pathetic.
Happiness itself is a state in one's life where nothing matters to you than being at peace with yourself and projecting it to the society.
Hence, we cannot afford to leave the society worse than we met it. We can do it yes we can.
